When to go: Our best time to Go & Weather Guides

Bali

When to go: The ideal months to go to Bali are June and September. The month of June coincides with Bali’s dry season (May to October). It’s one of the driest months of the year, and it falls just outside of the tourist season’s peak months of July and August. September is also a wonderful option for similar reasons.

When to avoid Bali: Although rain is never certain in Bali, the months of November to February are the island’s rainy season and maybe extremely uncomfortable at times. If your schedule permits, avoid it.

Hong kong

When to go to Hong Kong: October and April are the ideal months to visit Hong Kong. Hong Kong is at its driest around the middle of autumn, so you’ll be able to enjoy all of the city’s greatest outdoor activities without being hampered by rain. April is another viable option. Despite being wetter on average than October, it’s a considerably nicer month to be outdoors than the upcoming summer rainy season.

When to avoid Hong Kong: Unless you’re a glutton for punishment, the hot months in Hong Kong are best avoided. In general, they are extremely wet, oppressively hot, and sticky humid. During August and September, typhoon season also arrives. At all costs, avoid.

Japan

When to go to Japan: Although Japan is a year-round destination, the ideal months to visit are April and November. If you visit in April, you’ll be able to experience Japan at its most gorgeous, when cherry blossoms cover the country. The beautiful fall colors and milder temperatures in November make November a fantastic time to visit Japan.

When to avoid Japan: The summer months (June to August) are often the most inconvenient for visiting Japan. The nation is not only overrun with visitors, but it also receives strong rain and excessive humidity. You may also wish to skip the first week of May’s holiday schedule (Golden Week).

Korea

When to go to Korea: Because of its actual four-season environment, Korea may be visited all year. The greatest months to visit here, though, are April and November. It’s a beautiful time of year to come in April when cherry blossoms begin to cover the peninsula. The autumn colors in November are equally enticing.

When to avoid Korea: As with most of East Asia, you should avoid visiting Korea during the summer if at all possible. During these months, it is often extremely hot and humid, with the threat of rain showers looming. Typhoons are also a possibility!

Malaysia

When to go to Malaysia: Despite its small size, determining the optimum time to visit Malaysia is not easy. There are many distinct weather trends at work here. In general, the months of December to April are ideal for visiting western coast attractions like Penang and Langkawi, while April to November is ideal for the east coast. The west and east coastlines of Borneo’s Sarawak and Sabah follow a reversal pattern!

When to avoid Malaysia: Unless you like being cooped up in your hotel room or mall, you should avoid Malaysia during the rainy season. The northeast monsoon hits the east coast between November and February, whereas the rainy season hits the west coast between September and October.

Singapore

When to go to Singapore: Because of its position and small size, the weather in Singapore varies little throughout the year. Whatever time of year you choose to come, you must be prepared for the unavoidable heat and humidity. However, the ideal months to visit Singapore are February and March. This “season” between the monsoons is the driest of the year.

When to avoid Singapore: You should avoid Singapore from November to January, since this is the wettest period of the year. The summer months also bring an unpleasant cloud over the city due to smoke wafting over from the season fires on neighboring Sumatra. Anyone suffering from even moderate respiratory ailments should avoid going during this time.

Taiwan

When to go to Taiwan: November and April are the ideal months to visit Taiwan. The autumn month of November, along with December, is a particularly wonderful time to spend time exploring Taiwan’s natural wonders since it is, on average, the driest month of the year. With the spring blossoms in full bloom, April is another excellent month to visit Taiwan. Keep in mind that April may be a busy month for visitors from Mainland China, who flock to the island in droves.
