Rabbit Cards are Bangkok’s response to the contactless, stored-value cards used on public transportation in other major cities. Hong Kong, for example, has an Octopus card, Singapore has an EZ Link card, and London has an Oyster card.
Bangkok’s Rabbit card operates similarly. Passengers no longer need to purchase individual tickets or tokens to ride the BTS Skytrain. To enter and depart a station, customers just tap their card on a turnstile gate card reader.
Rabbit cards, in addition to being quite beneficial if you intend on using public transportation around the city center, may also be used at a wide range of businesses and restaurants. McDonald’s, Dairy Queen, The Pizza Company, Burger King, The Coffee Club, Bread Talk, Swensen’s, Sizzler, and Family Mart are among them.
Instead of using cash or a credit card, just use your Rabbit card. The maximum amount that a card may be topped up with is 4,000 Baht. As a result, it’s more suited for a quick lunch at a food court, a scoop of Swensen’s ice cream, or a cup of Starbucks coffee than a full-fledged shopping trip.

How to Buy a Rabbit Card?

How Do I Refill My Rabbit Card?
The card may be topped up at any BTS station counter, McDonald’s, Tesco Lotus minimart, or food court that accepts Rabbit pay. The least amount that may be reloaded on a card is 100 Baht. You may add value in 100 Baht increments up to a maximum of 4,000 Baht.
Please keep in mind that the first time you refill your card, you will be required to produce your passport as identification. This is not needed for any future top-ups. Simply produce your card and the baht amount you want to be credited to it.
How Do I Use My Rabbit Card on the BTS?
Simply touch your Rabbit Card on the gate scanner on the BTS (Skytrain) and wait for the “beep” to unlock the gate. When you arrive at your location, tap your card one more.
The cost of your travel is automatically removed from the balance on your card.
Can You Use A Rabbit Card on the MRT or ARL?
No. Rabbit cards are not valid for usage on the MRT metro system or the City Line Airport Rail Link to Suvarnabhumi Airport. To avail of such services, passengers must purchase additional tickets.
Is a Rabbit Card Refundable?
Yes. At any BTS ticket office, users may obtain a rapid refund of the stored amount on the card, up to a maximum of 250 Baht. The card issuing charge, however, will not be returned.
Larger balance refunds might take up to 15 days to complete.
How Can I Check the Balance on a Rabbit Card?
You may check your remaining balance at any BTS ticket office, as well as any store or company that takes the Rabbit card as payment.
Do Rabbit Cards Expire?
Your Rabbit Card is valid for 7 years from the date of issuance. So, if you want to visit Bangkok more than once, you may use the same card each time. There’s no need to replace it.
